Sofia Sarlat

Sofia Sarlat is an emerging vocalist and songwriter. She hails from New York City, and began her musical career at the age of 18, when she was lured into the jazz scenes NYC had to offer. Swinging the standards into the early hours of the morning, it wasn’t long before she found herself in her first off-off Broadway cabaret debut,  “Sofia Sarlat Swings 53 Above,” at the Broadway Comedy Club, where she was featured in Time Out Magazine. From then on, she was inspired to write her own songs of love, heartbreak, and vibrate with her sensuality, in the sound of her music.

Sofia debuted her first single “Brooklyn Rendezvous,” which is about one of her first relationships, or “situation-ships” in New York. He too was a musician, and they had very intense chemistry when they met on the scene. However, this chemistry and sensual vulnerability only came out in the evening, after a few drinks were had, and it felt very much in the gray area, with no promise of a future together. The song is almost like a verbal process of contemplating whether to settle for someone she will always end up chasing, or changing her mind to have something new.

Sofia’s next steps are to introduce her work to the world, and connect her music to a new audience. She cannot wait to share her stories, through songs of love, growth, vulnerability and sensual power, as a woman in the industry.
